Welcome to the Newby FoundationThe Newby Foundation provides extra-ordinary opportunities for gifted and talented Newby pupils. It does this in order to stimulate and broaden the minds of those with an exceptional skill or talent and, as a consequence, contribute towards them achieving their potential. IncomeIncome for the Foundation is generated by the school and community. School incomeThe school seeks to maintain a spiral of success. This involves working closely with the community to create a school culture that meets the needs of every child. Success in doing this is recognised by others and the advice of Newby sought. In exchange, Newby receives income for the time given freely by staff. This income is paid into the Foundation. The spiral continues as this leads to an ever more successful school based on meeting individual needs, greater recognition, increased income and so on. Interest (Ribs)Some members of the local Muslim community donate interest payments to the school. This income can be used in a way stipulated by the giver or, if they so wish, paid into the Foundation. Other donationsMembers of the local community occasionally ask if they can make a donation to support the school. As with interest payments, the school will always seek the views of those making the donation about how they wish the money to be used. One option is to support the Foundation. SupportStaff will identify pupils with a gift or talent and will make modifications to the curriculum. ln exceptional cases they will make recommendations to the Head teacher as to how this gift or talent might be further developed beyond the school day. The Head teacher will present the same to Governors at their half-termly meetings and a decision taken as to the level of financial support. The Head teacher will meet with parents discuss the proposals and put in place administration to support the activity. Click here to enter the main site. |
