The Curriculum

Pupils are well prepared for the next stage of their education. ~ Ofsted 2013

The curriculum caters for the needs of the individuals within our school and meets the formal requirements of
the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum and National Curriculum. It is designed to promote first-hanScienced experiential learning with communication, reading and numeracy at the core. The wide ranging extended schools activities enhance our provision and enrich the children’s experiences. In addition, the ‘hidden curriculum’ ensures our children develop the skills that are essential to becoming successful citizens. Further details are available from school and our website.

There are long term plans in place for every year group and subject based upon key skills that are built upon year after year. These are constantly under review to ensure the best possible provision for your child. The content through which these skills are taught is flexible to ensure we meet the ever-changing needs of our pupils.

Children are taught in mixed-ability groups except in maths in Years  6 and we offer specialist curriculum delivery for some subjects.
